Walk Sunday 19 March 2017 Boca de la Pesca

This week our walk started from Cumbres Verde and went up to Boca de la Pesca.
It was a perfect day for a walk, there was no wind, we had blue sky, the temperature was just right and the views were superb.
We started by walking through a pine forest and then across open farmland, with the views opening up all the time. It was still early spring around here and the Almond blossom trees were in full bloom. On the summit of Boca de la Pesca we stopped for a short break and to admire the views. Due to the high temperatures we have been having the recent fall of snow in the Sierras is in retreat,  quite large areas now snow free.
We continued the walk towards the Sevilla carpark and found 3 picnic tables where we could stop for our lunch break. With views over Travenque and the Sierra Nevada we could not have found a better spot.
After lunch our thoughts turned to finding a bar for refreshment. We decided to follow the road back to Cumbres Verde and go to the Guittara bar in the Pueblo, very convenient for us as that was where the cars were parked.  Jan decided to do a bit of cross country exploration and we arranged to meet up in the bar.
What we had not factored into the calculation was that it was Father's Day in Spain and that every Dad in Granada had taken the whole family to Cumbres Verde for lunch. The bar had every table set for lunch, there was no possibility of finding any space for 24 of us. In the end we decided to go home and have a nice cup of tea, instead of an ice cold beer. The only thing was Jan, he was charging around somewhere in the forest. He turned up about 20 minutes later, obviously expecting a beer as he had worked up a good sweat.
We had a lovely walk in one of my many favorite places.

We walked 10.6 kms and climbed 396 metres.
